HPG Expands Batch & Bodega Line

New partnerships for the food gift line are with five woman-founded businesses.

HPG (asi/61966), the ninth-largest supplier in the North American promotional products industry, is adding to its Batch & Bodega food gift line through new partnerships with five woman-founded businesses.

The latest exclusive partnerships are with Nene’s Treats (crumb cakes shipped fresh from Charleston, SC), Grey Ghost Bakery (pound cake and pie shipped fresh from Charleston, SC), Justice of the Pies (pies shipped fresh from Chicago), Flour & Branch (boutique cookies shipped fresh from San Francisco, CA) and Caroline’s Cakes (cakes and cake bites shipped fresh from Spartanburg, SC). You can get the backstory on each brand here.

Offerings from these brands are now available to the promotional products industry through HPG’s Batch & Bodega line.

“Following our initial launch of Batch & Bodega, we’ve listened hard to what the marketplace was asking for – more diversity in our maker profiles, a wider range of price-points, and continued depth in core categories of cakes and cookies –  and we’re excited to offer partnerships that are responsive to those needs,” said Jason Lucash, HPG’s chief development officer. “With this launch, we’re especially proud to support a lineup of all female-founded businesses who specialize in crafting nothing but the finest cakes, pies and cookies.”

Launched in August 2020, the Batch & Bodega line began with HPG bundling exclusive award-winning snacks from small-batch brands from across the United States with best-selling hard good products from HPG to create what the company said are unique and attractive giftable kits, or “batches.”

HPG reported that the line has enjoyed considerable success with distributors.

“When we launched, we had our initial six-month forecast in place, and we blew through that in the first six weeks,” Lucash recently told ASI Media. “Many of our maker partners had to bring in additional personnel to keep up with demand, run second and third shifts to keep up with our orders, and some even had to move to larger facilities to be able to support the orders we were sending their way.”

In April 2021, HPG expanded Batch & Bodega to include fresh food offerings from what the Braintree, MA-headquartered firm described as best-in-class independent food makers.

With reported 2019 North American promotional product revenue of $205.7 million, HPG ranked ninth on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the promotional products industry. The new list is due out this summer.
