Top 40 distributor Proforma (asi/300094) announced this week that multimillion-dollar distributor Bob Lanier Enterprises (asi/249050) has joined its network of companies. Lanier, who is an NBA Hall-of-Famer and retired from playing professional basketball in 1984, has grown his business into a more-than $3 million distributor firm with four sales reps.

Bob Lanier Enterprises, with offices in Milwaukee and Detroit, specializes in developing and managing promotional programs and comprehensive marketing campaigns. Following the deal with Proforma, Lanier plans to further expand the company’s e-commerce, digital marketing and commercial print offerings.

Proforma ranks as the second-largest distributor on the Counselor Top 40. It reported 2014 North American ad specialty sales of $373.4 million, an increase of 7.3% over 2013.
