In Memoriam: Ted Dennison, TMJ Enterprises

Ted Dennison, the co-owner of distributor TMJ Enterprises, died on January 14 after a lengthy illness. He was 57.

Dennison will be remembered as being one of the most impactful members of the promo products community in Houston. While his distributorship was known for serving oil/gas companies, nonprofits and schools, Dennison was also an active member of the Houston Promotional Products Association (HPPA), beginning in the early 1990s. He was the organization’s president from 2005 to 2006 and was the chairman of the group’s trade show committee for many years, playing a large role in the Hot Stuff Expo.

Dennison was also instrumental in recent hurricane relief efforts, working to organize and provide basic items collected from distributors and suppliers across the U.S., and then getting them to those in need in the greater Houston area. Remarkably, Dennison served his community even as his own home was flooded during Hurricane Harvey.

A memorial service for Dennison is being held on March 18 at the Scottish Rite on W. Bellfort Avenue in Houston at 1:00 p.m. The service, according to family and friends will “be a celebration of Ted’s remarkable life.” In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Houston Scottish Rite Learning Center or the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation.
