William Patrick (Pat) Murphy, a 46-year veteran of the promotional products industry, passed away on March 16.

Pat was the great nephew of Thomas D. Murphy, founder of the Red Oak, IA-based calendar printing firm Thos. D. Murphy Co., where Pat started his career. He later served as senior vice president of sales for Bankers Advertising (asi/131650) in Iowa City, IA. In 1993, Pat and his brother John started Murphy Brothers Crystal in Oshkosh, WI. Pat’s trademark line was, “If someone other than a Murphy answers the phone, call the cops!”

The brothers sold the company to Top 40 supplier IMAGEN Brands, parent company of Crown Products (asi/47700) and Vitronic (asi/93990), where Pat served as territory manager until his retirement in 2014. Both of his sons currently work in the industry: Rob with IMAGEN Brands and Ryan with Top 40 distributor 4imprint (asi/197045).

Outside the office, Pat loved hunting and fishing with his sons and spending time with his granddaughters and family. He and his wife, Gail, moved to The Villages, FL, where they became avid golfers and travelers, taking several cruises and road trips.

Pat is survived by his wife, Gail; sons Rob and Ryan; siblings Ann, Mick and John; and grandchildren Kali, Haley and Lindsey.
