BELLA+CANVAS Opening Two New Distribution Centers
The facilities in Nevada and Maryland will help the apparel supplier reach customers faster, the company said.
BELLA+CANVAS (asi/39590) is expanding its footprint.
The supplier of premium fashion-forward apparel basics like T-shirts and hooded sweatshirts is opening two new distribution facilities – one in Las Vegas and another in North East, MD.
“These new facilities will help us reach customers faster with the most premium garments on the market, dyed and cut at our home in Los Angeles,” the company said in announcing the distribution centers.
Across both facilities, BELLA+CANVAS will now have nearly 1.44 million square feet of space. A total of 720 employees – 420 in Maryland, 300 in Las Vegas – will help power operations. Notably, some 300 artificial intelligence-driven bots will also operate in the facilities – 130 in Maryland, 170 in Las Vegas. They will assist in the fulfilment of orders.
BELLA+CANVAS said that, on average, orders will ship to their final destination in the United States in about one to three days via UPS Ground.
“At its core, BELLA+CANVAS exists to provide a blank canvas on which to express your individuality,” the company said in a statement. “This logistical shift is an important step forward in doing just that, allowing us to better support you, our community, through all of your creative endeavors.”
BELLA+CANVAS formerly operated from a single distribution center in Commerce, CA. That center was to be shuttered by March 3, with operations relocating to Nevada. The Nevada facility was going live this week, while the Maryland facility was already operational, the supplier said.
Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge formally founded the BELLA brand in 1998. Prior to that, in 1995, they had launched a cut-and-sew operation after their work as screen printers led them to believe there was a gap in the market for great fitting and feeling off-the-shelf garments for women. In 2000, the pair launched CANVAS – the men’s collection equivalent of BELLA.
BELLA+CANVAS President Chris Blakeslee and Vice President of Sales Megan Spire rank 21st on Counselor’s Power 50 list of the promotional products market’s most influential people.
