AM Conservation Group, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has recalled about 37,000 luminescent promotional night lights due a fire hazard. The night lights, which were manufactured in China, were given out free to consumers – individually and in energy conservation kits – between November 2016 and March 2017, the CPSC said. To date, AM Conservation is aware of 14 incidents of the night lights smoking or smoldering. No injuries have been reported and no ASI-listed firms were named in the recall notice.

The recalled night lights are Model 2017-G, a square-shaped product with a rounded top. The night lights also glow green when they’re plugged into an electrical outlet. The back of the night lights have a metallic sticker with the “UL” logo on it. If the UL label has a number on it that begins with the letter H or I followed by seven numbers, the CPSC says the item is included in the recall.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled night lights and contact AM Conservation for a free replacement.
