Top 40 distributor Geiger (asi/202900) accelerated its expansion into Europe on Tuesday, announcing that its United Kingdom subsidiary, GeigerBTC, has acquired York, England-based Response Marketing. Financial terms of the deal were not released.

In business since 1999, Response Marketing has a reputation for creativity and innovation, Geiger executives said. Response’s Managing Director David Tysall and his team said they’re thrilled to be joining Geiger. “It's a perfect marriage,” said Tysall. “Our expertise in marketing and innovation blends perfectly with Geiger's huge knowledge and global infrastructure"

GeigerBTC said the acquisition advances its strategy to best support the needs of customers in Europe, North America and around the world. "We feel very fortunate to have found such an experienced and creatively driven partner to work with,” said GeigerBTC Managing Director Frank Murphy. “Their location in the beautiful city of York means that more of our clients can now enjoy an even better, local service going forward.”

The deal marks another 2019 U.K. acquisition for GeigerBTC. In January, the distributorship revealed that it had acquired EMC Advertising Gifts, a London-based firm that’s been in business since 1966.

Geiger has been busy making acquisitions on this side of the pond, too. Earlier this year, for instance, the Lewiston, ME-based company announced that it had acquired CM Promotions as part of a Midwest-focused expansion effort.

With reported 2017 North American promotional product revenue of $185.5 million, Geiger ranked 10th on Counselor’s latest list of the largest distributors in the industry. The new list debuts in July.
