HanesBrands Hires New Sales Leaders

Both Jim Dunne and Tim Gibson have ample industry experience.

Winston-Salem, NC-based HanesBrands (asi/59528) has hired two new sales leaders with experience in the apparel and promotional products market.

Jim Dunne, who has more than 20 years of printwear sales experience, has joined HanesBrands as director of distributor sales. Meanwhile, Tim Gibson, who has more than 30 years in the apparel and promotional marketing industry, is now aboard with HanesBrands as director of business development.

Dunne previously worked for Heritage Sportswear (asi/60582) as vice president of sales. Other industry experience includes time as director of strategic accounts for the former Broder Bros., which has since rolled into Top 40 supplier alphabroder (asi/34063).

“Jim has an exceptional understanding of the market,” said Rachel Newman, vice president/general manager of Hanes Activewear. “His relationships and sales acumen are rooted in his dedicated approach to customer service. With our expanded portfolio, we are well positioned for growth, and Jim’s strategic insights and relationships will be a tremendous asset.”

In his capacity as director of business development, Gibson will develop and implement strategic initiatives across field and inside sales for HanesBrands printwear. Gibson joins HanesBrands from Bella + Canvas, where he was national sales manager. Additional industry experience includes sales roles at Top 40 supplier Next Level Apparel (asi/73867) and Bodek and Rhodes.

“Tim is a strong sales leader who brings a dynamic energy with a proven record of success in fashion apparel sales,” said Newman. “With the addition of the Alternative and ComfortWash brands within the last two years, along with the continued growth of Hanes and the meteoric rise of Champion, we are well-positioned as this channel continues to elevate.”
