Newsweek Names Cintas One of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies

“Trust and mutual respect are foundations of our culture,” says Todd Schneider, president and CEO of the Top 40 distributor.

Top 40 distributor Cintas (asi/162167) is among the 400 most trusted companies in the United States.

That’s according to Newsweek, which has named the promotional products firm to its list of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies 2023.

“Trust is the foundation of all successful relationships, and we’re committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency and accountability so we maintain the trust we’ve earned with our customers, our employee-partners, our shareholders and with every stakeholder in our business,” said Todd Schneider, Cintas president and CEO. “Trust and mutual respect are foundations of our culture.”

Cintas, a publicly traded Cincinnati-headquartered corporation, is best known for its uniform rental and facilities services but also does an estimated nine figures in promo products sales.

While its operations are large and varied and its business totals multiple billions in revenue, Cintas hasn’t lost a personal, trustworthy touch, the Newsweek findings indicate.

The annual ranking of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies, conducted by Newsweek in partnership with global research firm Statista, identified the top 400 trusted companies in the United States based on an independent survey of more than 25,000 U.S. residents. Respondents were surveyed about how they felt companies treated their customers and employees and if they are believed to be good long-term investments. Cintas performed well.

“Trust is as crucial for any business as employees, capital and customers,” said Nancy Cooper, Newsweek’s global editor-in-chief. “If customers, employees and investors feel they can’t rely on a company to be honest and fair with them, that company can’t function for long. And in recent years, particularly through the pandemic, trust has taken on more meaning for businesses than just square dealing and avoiding scandal. Increasingly, consumers, employers and investors also want to know that a company shares their beliefs and values before they’ll come aboard.”

Cintas has been on a run of positive recognitions for its workplace and operations.

In the past year, Cintas has earned spots on Fortune’s list of World’s Most Admired Companies, Newsweek’s list of America’s Most Responsible Companies and Forbes’ list of America’s Best Large Employers. Cintas has also garnered honors for its DEI practices, including Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity and America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women; Disability Equality Index’s Best Place to Work; Military Friendly designations as a company, brand, employer, spouse employer and supplier diversity; and the Compete Sports Diversity LGBTQ+ Corporate Change Champion.

Based on estimated 2021 North American promo product revenue $177 million, Cintas ranked 14th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.
