In Memoriam: Barry Chouinard
Barry Chouinard, founder of garment-dyed T-shirt company Comfort Colors, passed away on Sunday, October 30. He was 65.
Born in Peterborough, NH, Chouinard relocated to Vermont in 1975 and established a textile business, which he managed until his retirement in 2015 when he sold it to Gildan Activewear (asi/56842). He was a devout church-goer, and a member of the Sons of The American Legion, the Elks, the Loyal Order of Moose and the Canadian Club in Barre, VT. He was also a fan of youth, high school and adult athletics.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Bonnie Chouinard; stepson Jeremy Drown; stepdaughter Shawna and her husband, Patrick Foran; beloved grandson Patrick Garrett Foran; sister Terry Chouinard and her husband Rich Little from Gold Hill, OR; and dogs Clyde, Allie, Bella, Gidget, and granddogs Hunter, Monte and Sissy.
