Mid-Nite Snax Is Expanding
Construction is underway on a forthcoming facility that will give Mid-Nite Snax (asi/71685) an additional 35,000 square feet for manufacturing and distribution operations. The Bethpage, NY-based supplier said Monday that the new facility, located in the same complex as its existing 85,000-square-foot operation, should open in January.
Mid-Nite Snax has engineered double-digit growth this year, and the new space will help the supplier meet ramped-up demand, company principles told Counselor. Also, Mid-Nite Snax plans to add 150 new employees to work at the facility.
“This is an exciting time for us at Mid-Nite Snax,” said David Katz, executive vice president. “It has always been our goal to add more manufacturing capabilities to our already robust offering.”
A leading supplier of promotional products in various categories of edibles, Mid-Nite Snax augmented its product offerings over the summer when it purchased a chocolate manufacturing company from outside the promo industry. Executives at Mid-Nite Snax told Counselor they are keeping the name of the manufacturer and terms of the deal private, but said that the investment bolsters and complements the supplier’s line. “We have vast experience with our industry leading popcorn manufacturing capabilities,” said Katz. “We are bringing that same level of care and expertise to our new chocolate division.”
Molded chocolates, custom bars, enrobed items and truffles are among the new edible items Mid-Nite Snax is already making available this holiday season. The supplier plans to launch additional chocolate products early next year.
