Gemini Industries (asi/56100), a Roxana, IL-based manufacturer/supplier of promotional products, announced Thursday that it has acquired Fitchburg, MA-based supplier TKCups-Sorg’s (asi/88200). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1996, TKCups-Sorg’s specializes in the manufacture of customized napkins, cups, plates, coffee sleeves, coasters and additional foodservice products in a range of colors. Noting that such offerings will expand Gemini’s product portfolio, the acquiring company said TKCups-Sorg’s line will continue to be produced in New England.

“For over 20 years, TKCups-Sorg’s has been known for producing high quality napkins and cups that have supported brand messages at special events and beyond, delivered throughout North America,” said Gemini’s General Manager Steve Ehlert. “We will invest in making our combined company stronger through new technology and a broader product line.”

Karen Laufer, former owner and president of TKCups-Sorg’s, will be leaving the company to pursue other interests after she assists with the transition period. Laufer believes she’s leaving TKCups in good hands. Gemini shares “our commitment to delivering exceptional products to our customers, of the highest quality, on time and at a reasonable price,” Laufer said. “Our customers will benefit from a larger partner with a wider array of products, and our employees will continue to enjoy working for a growing leader in the promotional products industry.”

Founded in 1954, Gemini Industries provides everything from vinyl key tags, floating key tags and beverage insulators to air fresheners, magnets, yard signs and more. The firm’s other recent acquisitions include F&H Ribbon Co. in 2017 and Anchor Line in 2015.
