Geiger Opens Sales Office in Germany
It’s part of the Top 40 promo products distributor’s global expansion. Renate Schmid will be heading up the Germany-based operation.
Geiger’s (asi/202900) entrepreneurial adventure in Europe is continuing.
The Lewiston, ME-based Top 40 promotional products distributor is growing its presence across the pond with the opening of a new sales office in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The office will work in coordination with Geiger’s German distribution facility in nearby Nettetal.
The deeper push into Germany – and thereby the European Union – is part of Geiger’s global expansion effort, which includes strategic acquisitions and additional infrastructure aimed at best serving the international shipping and distribution needs of clients.
“Germany is an important market for our clients,” said Chris McKee, Geiger senior vice president and chief revenue officer. “Adding this sales office in Düsseldorf to our local distribution center and online platform will streamline their efforts throughout Europe.”
Renate Schmid, who has 14 years of experience in the merchandise and print management industry, is joining Geiger to serve as account director for Germany. Schmid will be managing Geiger’s clients in the region.
“We are delighted to welcome Renate to our European team and support the growth of this new era for Geiger in Germany,” said Vicky Kinasz, managing director of Geiger’s division in the United Kingdom. “She brings a wealth of experience in merchandise and management of global accounts, and I look forward to working closely with her.”
In recent years, Geiger has been busily building out a bigger footprint in Europe. The effort includes a series of acquisitions in the United Kingdom.
With reported 2020 North American promotional products revenue of $206 million, Geiger ranked 10th on Counselor’s most recent list of the industry’s largest distributors. President/CEO Jo-an Lantz placed third on Counselor’s 2021 Power 50 list of promo’s most influential people.
