Rustico Halts Order Intake Through the End of the Holidays
The supplier of handcrafted leather products said the move is a result of “unexpected financial restraints.”
Rustico (asi/84264) has pressed pause on taking promo orders.
The Utah-based supplier of premium handcrafted leather goods has communicated to distributors that it doesn’t plan to field new orders through the end of the year.
A message from the firm read: “Due to unexpected financial constraints, Rustico can no longer accept any incoming purchase orders from our distributors through the end of the holiday season. All purchases that were made and confirmed by or before (Friday, Oct. 13) will be worked on. Please reach out to sales@rustico.com for any further information.”
In light of the announcement, Rustico has had its offerings made inactive in ESP and ESP+, technology solutions from ASI that include a searchable database of products from suppliers throughout the North American promotional products industry.
Isaac Childs, founder/CEO of Rustico, said the supplier could soon share more information about its situation. As of this writing, he hadn’t responded to requests from ASI Media for additional details.
Childs and friends founded Rustico following a backpacking trip to Europe in 1998, during which the CEO discovered enjoyment in journaling about his travels. Still, he wanted better, more durable journals to write in – an inflection point that set him on the path to creating high-quality leather journals and the start of Rustico.
Today, the supplier offers, among many other items, journals, portfolios, belts, wallets, wristbands and travel tags.
