Water Bottles Recalled Due To Lead Paint Violations
Pottery Barn has recalled imprinted water bottles with Avengers and Star Wars themes due to excessive levels of lead. Over 15,000 water bottles were sold in the U.S. (and an additional 400 in Canada) from June 2014 to September 2015 at Pottery Barn Kids and Outlet stores as well as through the company’s Kids catalog and website.
The excessive levels of lead were found in gray paint on the metal portion of the water bottle. No injuries or incidents have been reported. Amax Enterprises (HK) Limited, of China is listed as the manufacturer of the water bottle.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) advises consumers to return the water bottle to the nearest Pottery Barn Kids store or contact the firm’s toll-free number for free shipping information. Consumers who purchased the water bottle will have a choice of a full refund or replacement water bottle along with a $20 Pottery Barn Kids gift card.
The water bottles feature a gray exterior with a blue or black plastic top. The Avengers water bottle has images of Thor, The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man while the Star Wars water bottle features images of Darth Vader and the Death Star.
