Delta Apparel’s Annual Sales Up 8%
The Top 40 promo supplier released preliminary financial results this week. Full results for fiscal 2019 are expected in November.
Top 40 promotional products supplier Delta Apparel (asi/49172) said Thursday that its fiscal year 2019 sales increased more than 8% year over year to between $428 million and $430 million. The Greenville, SC-based apparel firm’s annual growth announcement came on the heels of a fourth quarter in which company-wide sales reportedly rose between 12% and 14% to between $104 million and $106 million.
Delta Apparel was providing ranges on the revenue because the results announced Thursday are preliminary. Full financial results for the fiscal year and fourth quarter ended Sept. 28, including word on earnings and profit, are scheduled to be released Nov. 21.
Still, company executives said they’re encouraged by the top line numbers. Delta Apparel said strong organic growth across business channels fueled the fourth quarter sales ascent. The annual gain resulted, in part, from revenue rises in the company’s digital print business – DTG2Go – as well improved performance from its flagship Salt Life brand.
“We are … delighted to have achieved our full-year goals of 20% organic growth in our DTG2Go business and strong growth in our Salt Life business,” said CEO/Chairman Robert W. Humphreys. “Our Delta Activewear team overcame the challenges brought on by changes in product mix within its private label business and also delivered growth for the year. All of our teams have done a great job of executing on our growth initiatives and leveraging our scale and vertical platform.”
With reported 2018 North American promotional product revenue of $46.2 million, Delta Apparel ranked 38th on Counselor’s latest list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
