Geiger Names Two New Executives
As chief information officer, Tuan Huynh replaces Dale Denham, who left to join PPAI as president/CEO in July.
Two new executives are joining the C-Suite at Geiger (asi/202900), the North American promotional products industry’s 10th largest distributor.
Tuan Huynh is the Lewiston, ME-based company’s new chief information officer, replacing Dale Denham, who in July was named president/CEO of Promotional Products Association International (PPAI).
Meanwhile, Janice Gray has been named chief human resource officer. She comes aboard in anticipation of long-time HR Vice President Laura Bosse’s retirement next year.
“I am excited that both Janice and Tuan have joined Geiger’s executive team,” said Jo-an Lantz, president/CEO of Geiger and a member of Counselor’s Power 50 list of promo’s most influential people. “People and technology are interwoven throughout the culture and business success of Geiger as we continue to grow.”
Huynh has what Geiger described as more than 20 years of experience leading technically complex, large-scale projects and leveraging technology to drive business efficiency. He was most recently director of security and IT operations at Cole Haan, a footwear and accessories brand that serves markets worldwide.
With an educational background that includes Georgia Tech and MIT, Huynh’s other past positions include being executive director of infrastructure operations and risk management at the Council on International Education Exchange and various senior management roles at Neptune Orient Lines, a former Singaporean container shipping company.
Lantz said Huynh’s career history that entails in-depth familiarity with global technology in retail, transportation, logistics, higher education, nonprofit, dental and financial industries makes him a valuable addition.
“Tuan’s background and career have provided him with unique skill sets ideal for keeping us ahead of current and future demands,” Lantz said, “especially as operational and client information technology requirements change at a dizzying speed.”
Meanwhile, Geiger said that Gray has extensive experience as a strategic people leader focused on talent acquisition, talent management and team development.
Before joining the Top 40 promo firm, Gray served in a dual role as director of human resources and corporate learning and development leader at ConMed, a global publicly traded medical device company. At ConMed, Gray spearheaded global leadership development strategy and cultivating an engaged employee culture.
“As we continue to expand globally and talent acquisition requirements broaden and change, Janice’s experience and skill sets will help us find the best people,” said Lantz.
Geiger reported North American promotional product revenue of $206 million for 2020, good enough to rank the company 10th on Counselor’s most recent list of the industry’s largest distributors.
