The solar array system at Gemline is expected to reduce the company’s annual energy consumption by 43%.

Consisting of 1,736 modules, the solar array activated in August 2022 and has so far saved 221,000 in CO2 emissions. Gemline asserted that the carbon dioxide reduction to date equates to more than 1,600 trees being planted.

Over the course of a year, the solar array will reduce Gemline’s energy consumption by approximately 43%, according to the company. Real-time metrics can be found on Gemline’s Solar Power and Energy Consumption Dashboard here.

The solar generation system represents another milestone in the promo supplier’s ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts.

“We believe our company has a long-term ongoing responsibility to the environment,” said Gemline President Frank Carpenito. “The implementation of our new solar power generation system is another exciting step forward on our journey to become a more sustainable and responsible company.”

Gemline leaders and local dignitaries, including Brian A. De Peña, mayor of Lawrence, MA, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony held to celebrate the solar array’s activation.

Gemline recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the solar array. Brian A. De Peña, mayor of Lawrence, MA, did the honors of cutting the ribbon. Gemline leaders in attendance included Carpenito, CEO Jonathan Isaacson, and members of the firm’s corporate social responsibility committee – Susan Kamacho, Arthur Chung, Tim Behling, Andy Blahnik, Pam Stauffer and Gus Gonzalez.

Based on reported 2021 North American promo product revenue of $127.5 million, Gemline ranked 10th on Counselor’s most recent list of the larges suppliers in the industry.
