iPromo Debuts EcoCloud Service for Recycling, Reusing or Donating Branded Merch

The distributor handles the logistics of giving a second life to purchased promo products that weren’t used in a campaign or event.

iPromo (asi/229471) has launched a new service that aims to help clients reuse, recycle or donate promotional products they’ve purchased that go unused during a campaign.

With the EcoCloud solution, iPromo will arrange for products that don’t get used at trade shows, internal giveaways and the like to be conveniently picked up and returned to the distributor’s warehouse.

From there, clients can decide whether to reuse the products in another initiative, recycle them or donate them to a charity. iPromo handles the logistics, taking care of recycling and donations.

“We want to empower every company that uses branded gifts to do so sustainably,” said iPromo Founder/CEO Leo Friedman. “While eco-friendly products are a good start, EcoCloud is a sustainable long-term solution for marketers and HR departments to reduce their environmental footprint.”

In keeping with the spirit of the eco-minded service, iPromo has partnered with environmental protection-focused enterprise Ecologi to plant 200 trees every time a client signs up for EcoCloud in 2022.

The distributor noted that EcoCloud is automatically included with iPromo’s recently launched SwagCloud – a portal that allows customers to track stored gifts and ship them directly from iPromo warehouses around the world. The solution is similar to a custom-branded online company store, but with a simpler interface and a live inventory count, Friedman explained.

EcoCloud isn’t the first promo-industry service focused on reusing, recycling or donating unwanted branded merchandise.

Ben Grossman, co-president of the Somerville, MA-based distributorship Grossman Marketing Group (asi/215205), founded an initiative called SwagCycle. The service allows brands and other promo companies to recycle or repurpose unwanted promo products, often connecting firms with worthy charitable causes.

For his efforts with SwagCycle, Grossman won Counselor’s 2022 Bess Cohn Humanitarian of the Year award.
