Safety Made Acquires Ready 4 Kits
The deal involves two promo suppliers based in New Hampshire that specialize in safety products/kits.
One New Hampshire-based promotional products supplier that specializes in safety products/kits has acquired another.
Keene, NH-headquartered Safety Made (asi/84514) has purchased the assets of Ready 4 Kits (asi/80882), a New Hampshire company that has been manufacturing kits for the first aid, automotive, events and golf markets for more than 20 years. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Safety Made designs and builds private label/imprinted first-aid kits for promotional use across several categories and themes, including first aid, golf, disaster/survival, outdoor, wellness and travel. It now offers Dorcy, Life+Gear, DieHard and Ready 4 Kits products.
“With deep inventory depth and a focus on the safety category, the combined offering of Safety Made and Ready 4 Kits gives customers an unmatched product offering and service level,” said Paul Dubois, president of Safety Made. “We are excited about the future of our combined offering.”
Dubois has a history with Ready 4 Kits. He began working there out of college and remained at the company until 2017, at which point he left to start Safety Made.
It’s been a busy few months for Dubois and his company. In the spring, Acme United Corp., a consumer products company with a more than 150-year history, acquired the assets of Safety Made. Still, the supplier continues to operate independently in New Hampshire under Dubois’ leadership.
Acme is a supplier of cutting, measuring, first aid and sharpening products to the school, home, office, hardware, sporting goods and industrial markets. It has operations in the United States, Canada, Europe (located in Germany) and Asia (located in Hong Kong and China).
Of late, mergers and acquisitions have been occurring at a rapid pace in the promo products market. Recent deals include Gallant Capital Partners acquiring SupplyLogic WebbMason (SLWM; asi/356166), JAL Equity buying apparel decorator Eagle Products, A4 (asi/30121) acquiring LabFit Apparel, and The Occasions Group acquiring the assets of supplier Accu Copy (asi/30490).
