Dorcy Exits Industry, Signs Deal With Aprinta

As first reported in a Breaking News Alert on Thursday, Dorcy International, the parent company of Dorcy Special Markets Division (asi/50677), is exiting all aspects of the ad specialty industry in both the U.S. and Canada. As part of its exit plan, the company announced that Aprinta Group, through its Adva-Lite (asi/32145) division, will now be responsible for marketing and selling the full line of Dorcy products to the promotional products market.

“We are making key, targeted moves as we align operations in support of our retail distribution network,” said Tom Beckett, president and CEO of Dorcy, in a statement. “As we move forward with our professional and consumer product initiatives, our efforts must be focused on how we optimize and expand Dorcy’s retail presence in this ever-changing marketplace. We are excited to have Aprinta Promo and Adva-Lite representing the Dorcy product range.”

Dorcy production operations on promotional products orders will cease as of September 30. Purchase orders submitted to Dorcy prior to September 11 will be processed, shipped and invoiced through the end of this month. Any order placed after that date should be sent to Aprinta and will be fulfilled through the Aprinta Group organization.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to reunite Dorcy and Adva-Lite in the promotional products industry once again,” said Billy Dolan, president and CEO of Aprinta Group. “Adva-Lite’s greatest success came when this partnership was developing and marketing products together. This is a big step forward for Aprinta as we continue to expand the reach of our family of brands.”

Aprinta Group was formed last year by Top 40 firm Sunscope (asi/90075), which had previously come to an agreement with equity firm Capital Supply Group to manage the former Camsing Global supplier brands. Many of Camsing’s brands are now Aprinta divisions, including Adva-Lite, Dart Business Accessories, Drinx, Falcon Promotional Products, It’s All Greek to Me, StyleWrite, and Toppers.
