Peerless Now Offers Weatherman Umbrellas

Meteorologist Rick Reichmuth created the Weatherman brand in an effort to make a superior umbrella.

Meteorologist Rick Reichmuth wanted a better umbrella for when he was out in the field covering severe weather events.

And so, he created one.

The result of his efforts is the Weatherman brand of umbrellas, which Newark, NJ-based promo supplier Peerless Umbrella (asi/76730) will now be selling to the promotional products market thanks to a just-inked partnership.

The Weatherman 62-inch golf umbrella (WEA062) is available from Peerless Umbrella.

Initially, Peerless will offer two styles in Weatherman’s most popular colors: the Weatherman 62-inch golf umbrella (WEA062) and the Weatherman collapsible umbrella (WEA050), which features a 50-inch arc. Both styles will be available in black and navy blue. Peerless plans to add more styles and colors from Weatherman in the future.

Like Peerless umbrellas, Weatherman umbrellas come with a lifetime guarantee. Weatherman says its umbrellas can withstand extreme weather. The materials – from the hand-sewn panels to the fiberglass ribs – are said to hold off 55-mph winds.

“Our mission at Weatherman is to make an umbrella that lasts and becomes part of your daily routine,” the company says on its website. “We want you to take it outside without worry or frustration.”

Peerless joins an elite list of Weatherman partners, particularly as concerns the golf market. In that niche, Weatherman has linked up with Arnold Palmer Enterprises, Folds of Honor, and the PGA of America and PGA TOUR to create custom designs that can be seen anywhere from the Ryder Cup to the recent Olympic Games in Tokyo.

“It is an honor to now bring such a well-known, high-quality retail brand umbrella into our line, and to work with a company that shares our love for impeccable craftsmanship,” said Dan Edge, national sales manager at Peerless Umbrella.

Peerless Umbrella has been in business for nearly 100 years. The company prides itself on what it says is setting the standard for what a quality umbrella should be. That appealed to Weatherman.

“We’ve been able to witness first-hand the attention to detail and workmanship that Peerless puts into the production and design of their products,” said Tyler Kupper, partner and chief revenue officer at Weatherman. “Since Weatherman’s inception, we’ve seen a large number of requests for co-branded and custom umbrellas, but found ourselves limited by bandwidth to meet demand. We’re optimistic about our partnership with Peerless and are excited about the partnership as it allows us to meet demand at scale and continue to grow.”
