Ennis Inc. Promotes Two to the C-Suite
Wade Brewer is rising to chief operating officer, while Terry Pennington is now chief revenue officer at the Texas-based supplier of print and promo.
A couple of leaders at Ennis Inc. (asi/52493) have earned promotions to the C-Suite.
The Midlothian, TX-based print and promo products supplier has promoted Wade Brewer to the role of chief operating officer, and Terry Pennington is on the way up to the position of chief revenue officer.
Brewer was most recently Ennis’ director of manufacturing, a role he held since 2021 after previously being business unit director at the firm for nine years. Pennington joined Ennis in 2006. He was vice president of sales since 2010 until the just-announced promotion to CRO.
The executive pair report to Keith S. Walters, chairman, CEO and president of Ennis.
“Both Mr. Brewer and Mr. Pennington have proven themselves to be of tremendous value to the company within their respective roles,” said Walters. “We are pleased to have these two new officers with such deep industry experience and knowledge helping lead our company.”
Brewer has nearly 40 years of print industry experience. As business unit director at Ennis, he helped manage all of the company’s 50-plus production facilities. Career highlights include being director of manufacturing and vice president of operations of Cenveo’s document division, where he oversaw 11 different plants, all of which are now part of Ennis.
Pennington served in various senior and executive management roles in the printing sector for 26 years before joining Ennis. As VP of sales at the firm, he was responsible for managing the company’s regional sales managers and supporting the sales efforts of Ennis' 35,000 independent distributors.

As part of an acquisition team, Pennington has helped Ennis diversify its offerings – efforts that include adding envelope manufacturing 10 years ago. “He has played a role in expanding the company’s sales of labels, tags and commercial print during his tenure by acquisition or new product offerings,” the company said.
The leadership announcements come as business has been good at Ennis. The publicly traded company reported earlier this week that sales, earnings and profit margin increased in its fiscal second quarter, which concluded Aug. 31.
In April, Ennis reported that it increased total company revenue, net income and earnings for its previous full fiscal year, which concluded Feb. 28, 2022.
Ennis sells promotional products, business forms and supplies, checks and software-compatible forms, envelopes, custom business forms, presentation folders and more. The company was formerly a Top 40 supplier.
