Dispatches from the Work-From-Home Front: The Podcast Edition

ASI editors talk isolation, favorite shows and much more.

In this episode of the Promo Insiders podcast, Sara Lavenduski of Advantages magazine speaks with Counselor’s Chris Ruvo, staff writer John Corrigan and multimedia coordinator Kyle Ashenfelder about what they’ve been up to in isolation during the coronavirus pandemic. The group’s been getting into different streaming shows, learning new things and following fun social media accounts.

Podcast chapters
1:34 – How’s everyone doing?
5:36 – What we’ve been watching
13:01 – What we’ve been listening to
17:45 – Our “little joys” during isolation
22:40 – Encouraging stories from the industry

While you’re home, Ashenfelder recommends checking out behavioral experiment show 100 Humans and Ruvo’s been enjoying fantastical series Locke & Key, both on Netflix.

Corrigan moved into his new house recently, so settling in there has been keeping him busy.

Meanwhile, British actor Sir Patrick Stewart of Star Trek fame reads #ASonnetADay from William Shakespeare on video and posts to Twitter. And the head of security at the National Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City has been a surprise star on social media during its closure to the public; he takes photos of exhibits, serves up interesting facts, adorable dad jokes, and an endearing hashtag (#HashtagTheCowboy) and ends every tweet with “Thanks, Tim.”

The editors also share good news out of the industry, from companies’ major pivots as they adapt to new demands and keep workers employed, to offering virtual educational classes to clients’ kids.
