Allmade Apparel Creates Decoration Recommendations Guide for Printers
The eco-friendly apparel company said the guide will help streamline decoration – while also minimizing waste.
Key Takeaways
• Decoration Guide: Allmade Apparel (asi/34341) has released a comprehensive guide to help printers achieve high-quality decoration on its sustainable garments.
• Waste Reduction: The guide aims to minimize waste in the apparel decoration process by providing proven techniques for various methods, including screen printing and direct-to-film.
Allmade Apparel (asi/34341) wants to help printers streamline the decoration process on its sustainable garments.
To that end, the environmentally conscious blank-apparel supplier with an exclusive partnership with Counselor Top 40 supplier SanMar (asi/84863) has released a Decoration Recommendations Guide. It features tips on how to master high-quality apparel decoration, making the process smoother, faster and more successful, according to the company.
Depending on which technique is used, the apparel decoration industry has an average waste rate of 1% to 4%. Allmade aims to help minimize that waste by providing a guide packed with information and proven techniques for screen printing, heat pressing, direct-to-garment and direct-to-film (DTF) applications for its eco-friendly apparel.
“The most sustainable T-shirt starts with a high-quality garment, is decorated with a high-quality print and lasts wash after wash,” said Brett Bowden, a decoration industry veteran and co-founder of Allmade.
Allmade said its new guide is built on extensive testing and printer feedback to ensure optimal decoration results. It includes step-by-step advice and practical tips so that decorators needn’t go through the trial-and-error process of decorating a new garment type on their own. Highlights of the guide include tailored tips for each decoration method, video library access and a free PDF download.
The State of Sustainability in Decorated Apparel
The Apparelist, whose parent company PRINTING United Alliance has a strategic partnership with ASI, recently sat down with Mel Lay and Dom Rosacci of Allmade Apparel (asi/34341) to talk about positive change when it comes to sustainability in the printing industry. Watch the video here.
“Allmade was initially created by screen printers to make a better shirt to print on,” said Ryan Moor, CEO of Allmade and Counselor’s 2020 Supplier Entrepreneur of the Year. “To continue that promise, we created the decoration recommendations to give any decorator or [promotional products distributor] a tool to get the best result possible.”
Moor noted that the guide includes dye migration and discharge ratings, which DTF transfers work on which fabrications and colorways, and other helpful advice, all given in the name of creating “less stress and more time on press.”
Based in the Pacific Northwest, Allmade was founded in 2017 by a group of screen printers looking to make ethically conscious and sustainable apparel that was also tailor-made for decoration. In 2020, the company joined up with SanMar, which became the exclusive supplier of the brand.
