Atlantis Headwear Joins bluesign as System Partner

The supplier calls it a significant step in its commitment to reducing environmental impact.

Key Takeaways

System Partner: Atlantis Headwear (asi/37380) has become an official System Partner of bluesign, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and responsible production practices.

Continuous Improvement: As part of its commitment, the supplier said it will undergo comprehensive assessments and implement corrective actions to align with stringent standards.

Sustainable Italian brand Atlantis Headwear (asi/37380) is the latest supplier to join bluesign as an official System Partner – a move that the company says marks a significant step forward in its commitment to reducing environmental impact and ensuring the safety and health of customers and workers.

Bluesign says it offers a solution for sustainable textile production by eliminating harmful substances from the beginning of the manufacturing process and setting and controlling standards for environmentally friendly and safe production.

“Joining the bluesign System represents more than just meeting high standards – it signifies our commitment to global environmental stewardship and social responsibility,” Atlantis said in a statement. “This partnership provides us with a robust framework to continuously improve and innovate responsibly, ensuring that our production processes safeguard the environment and all stakeholders involved.”

As part of its partnership with bluesign, Atlantis said it has committed to comprehensive assessments to ensure compliance with stringent standards and the implementation of necessary corrective actions. Continuous improvement and compliance will be an ongoing focus. “The action plan provided by bluesign after assessments will guide our efforts in achieving responsible production,” the supplier noted.

Last year, several suppliers announced that they had joined bluesign as System Partners.

Counselor Top 40 supplier SanMar (asi/84863) became a partner in September, noting that the move underscored its commitment to sustainable manufacturing and responsible chemical management. Earlier that same month, Eagan, MN-based apparel supplier Storm Creek (asi/89879) announced that it had formally partnered with the sustainable textile certifier, pledging to use only bluesign-approved fabrics by the end of next year.

Over the last few years, Atlantis Headwear has taken multiple steps to improve the sustainability of its products and overall operations. In 2024, the supplier partnered with ReTraze to use upcycled fishing nets and plastic bottles in its cap visors. Atlantis’ parent company, Master Italia SpA also became registered as a benefit corporation – a legal status administered by a governing body that layers on top of traditional corporate status and states a company’s intention to focus on stakeholders, rather than shareholders.
