Decorating Roundup: Hotronix Adds 120-Volt Heat Press
Plus, Arcus Printers and Ninja Transfers have both released new direct-to-film technology.
Stahls’ (asi/88984) Hotronix has added a 120-volt model of its Dual Air Fusion IQ heat press, adding on to the existing 240-volt model. The new voltage will make heat printing more accessible to a wider range of apparel decorators, small businesses and print shops of all sizes, since they’ll be able to use the press without having to modify their electrical infrastructure, according to the company.
Instead, decorators can connect the 120-volt model into any dedicated standard 20-amp circuit, offering a plug-and-play solution for high-powered automated heat printing.
“While the Dual Air Fusion has been a staple in heat-printing departments at high-volume factories, it’s equally important for a small business,” said Josh Ellsworth, chief revenue officer, GroupeSTAHL. “The availability of a 120-volt dual heat press is due to the demand we’ve seen for home business use. Typically, an entrepreneur wears many hats in the day, and a dual station press ensures that they are producing orders faster and saving time. Coupled with the machine’s UL listing, any sized decorator, regardless of manufacturing location, can get the benefits of time savings and the peace of mind of a safe machine.”
Arcus Printers Introduces Instant Peel DTF Transfers
Arcus Printers is now offering Instant Peel DTF transfers, engineered to address common challenges decorators face with traditional cold- and hot-peel transfers while combining their benefits. The transfers peel off in one to three seconds, increasing production times and efficiency, according to the company.
“Our Instant Peel DTF Transfers address the pain points decorators have faced with cold- and hot-peel methods,” said Rick Marcelo, director of technology at Axiom America, parent company of Arcus Printers. “We’ve combined speed, quality and durability in a single product, allowing decorators to achieve faster production times without sacrificing the integrity of their designs.”
Among the features of the product are its rapid peel time, enhanced color vibrancy, durability, abrasion resistance, superior adhesion and double-sided antistatic coating.
Ninja Transfers Launches Easy Peel DTF Technology
Philadelphia-based Ninja Transfers (asi/73060) has launched Easy Peel technology for DTF transfers, noting that it replaces traditional cold-peel methods and enhances hot-peel applications.
“This innovation is a game-changer for apparel decorators, combining the best of hot-peel and cold-peel methods to make the pressing process faster, easier and more reliable than ever before,” said Victor Ilisco, director of business development at Ninja Transfers.
Easy Peel lets users peel immediately while hot or wait until a transfer is cool, with the ability to pull it slowly at first and then fast to ensure it’s properly adhered to the product, according to the company. Ninja Transfers compares it to other hot-peel film that requires decorators to pull it off quickly without first ensuring there will be good adhesion and potentially damaging or wasting a garment.
The transfers also feature a new double-matte film, allowing for better color and print alignment for transfers. Benefits of Easy Peel include the ability to peel hot or cool to match your shop’s workflow; the ability to press and peel intricate details like halftones and thin lines; and faster application, allowing decorators to produce more in less time.
