Brady Tops List Ranking NFL Players’ Merch Sales

Apparently, winning a sixth Super Bowl this February wasn’t enough for Tom Brady.

The New England Patriots quarterback just emerged victorious in another competition among gridiron greats: He topped the NFLPA’s annual player merchandise sales list.

Tom Brady…he’s sort of good at football.

The ranking evaluates which NFL players’ branded merchandise amassed the most total sales between March 1, 2018 and February 28, 2019. Shocker: The greatest quarterback of all time, the engine of the best team of the 21st Century for nearly two decades, came in first – for a record-setting third time, we might add. It’s fair to say people like a winner.

From a promotional products perspective, it’s interesting to note that the Brady-branded merch sales total accounted for much more than just jerseys bearing his name. It also includes T-shirts, bobbleheads, trading cards, Fatheads, hoodies, drinkware, pennants, pet products, backpacks and more.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott came in second on the swag list. When you’re the quarterback of “America’s Team,” doing pretty darn well, you do things like finish high on merch sales’ lists. Makes sense.

Third place went to Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz. The lofty ranking was impressive – and maybe a bit surprising -- given that Wentz had a down year and missed more than a few games through injury. Still, the Eagles generate maniacal commitment from their rabid fans, who clearly like to show their fanatical support by sporting team-branded merch, especially if it bears the name of the man they’ve anointed their golden child franchise quarterback.
