Bud Light-Branded Fridges Will Give Free Beer If Cleveland Browns Win
The Browns have won a single game in the previous two seasons, going 1-31 during that span.
In a Nutshell:
- Containing about 200 beers each, the fridges will be unlocked via smart technology the moment the Browns prevail.
- Some fridges are located at the Browns’ stadium, others throughout greater Cleveland.
Take a second now and slam your fingers in your car door. Then do it over and over again. Congratulations, you now know what it’s like to be a Cleveland Browns fan.
Indeed, the long-suffering Dawg Pound faithful have put up with what is arguably the most hapless, chronically inept team in American professional sports. As such, there is certainly no group of dedicated fans more deserving of free beer in thanks for their endurance. And now, those passionate supporters are going to get just that – courtesy of a quirky co-branded promotion from Bud Light and the Browns.
You’ve stood by us through it all. We love you for it, and so does @budlight.

These special fridges will unlock celebratory beers when we get our first regular season “W”.#VictoryFridge pic.twitter.com/LgsGNabMpt
Here’s how it works: Bud Light is putting branded refrigerators that will contain about 200 16oz beer bottles each at the Browns’ FirstEnergy Stadium and at select locations around the city of Cleveland and its suburbs. Fridges will be in spots where folks must be 21 years of age or older (check your local watering hole). When (if?) the Browns win their first regular season game this coming season, the locked fridges will be triggered to open via smart technology. The free beer will flow while supplies last. Hopefully, the euphoria of a Browns win – something that didn’t happen during the entire 0-16 2017-18 season – will stave off any potential fisticuffs in pursuit of free suds.
Now, all that needs to happen is for the Browns to win. Bud Light believes.
.@Browns fans, these fridges will open this year. We know it. You know it. #LetsGoBrownies https://t.co/73VnB6LR8Z

Others, however, are not so confident that the fridges will open this season:
The Browns and Bud Light put locked “Victory Fridges” in Cleveland bars that only open when they win a game, which leads me to believe they don’t want to sell beer: pic.twitter.com/NhMxZRBpaN
