What I Wish I Knew When I Started …
There are a lot of details involved when you’re selling promo items. Never make any assumptions!
What Frustrates Me the Most …
I’m told one thing on the phone from a supplier and when I get the order acknowledgement it changes.
I’ll Never Do That Again …
I will never screen print a shirt in full color unless I give the customer a production proof first.
If I Were Queen of the Industry …
I would serve as a consultant for both distributors and the end-user. I would provide help obtaining products that get the best ROI in terms of hitting their target audiences, reaching their marketing goals and keeping their branding visible for the longest amount of time possible. That is, after all, the ultimate purpose of a promo item.
What I Wish I Could Say to a Client …
Be a good listener. If I tell you to allow for a certain amount of time to get a product you need and you give me the order within a few days of your deadline, there is no guarantee you are going to get exactly what you want.
Best Advice I Received …
I don’t have to be perfect, but when I make a mistake, I need to take full responsibility for it, apologize for it and let the customer know what I am going to do to resolve it. This will go a long way in retaining loyal customers.
What Suppliers Can Do Better …
Get more reviews on ESP. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in business. When we’re looking to potentially do business with you, we want to look at your reviews to make sure you are a viable supplier. If you don’t have many reviews, we’re going to look elsewhere.
Most Overrated Trend …
Fidget spinners. They were made for people who struggle with attention disorders and it has been shown to help them. If you don’t have a disorder, it isn’t really a useful tool and is a distraction to everyone else.
Stereotype About Salespeople I Hate the Most …
That we are all pushy and try to sell things that people don’t really need.
The Austin, TX-based account executive celebrated 25 years of marriage in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Rademachir recently attended the Sir Speedy and Franchise Services 2016 Sales Forum in North Carolina.
