HanesBrands (asi/59528) is now selling face masks to the promotional products industry.

The Winston-Salem, NC-headquartered apparel maker announced Thursday, July 23 that it will offer four styles to the printwear market – a timely release as mask mandates increase and students and teachers in areas of the country prepare to return to the classroom with mask requirements in place.

“We had the benefit of making more than 450 million face coverings for the U.S. government,” said Michael Johnson, director of marketing for Hanes Activewear. “At the same time, we were developing elevated styles specifically for embellishment. What we have now is a high-quality, reusable mask collection with enhanced benefits that meet the vast majority of embellishment customers’ needs.”

HanesBrands’ masks are available from S&S Activewear (asi/84358), alphabroder (asi/34063), Printgear (asi/79570), Mission Imprintables and TSFPR.

According to HanesBrands, the Hanes Pocket Mask was designed specifically for printing and decoration. Available in both two-ply cotton and 100% polyester fabrications, the mask has an inner pocket that fits on a sleeve/pocket platen for what Hanes said is easy printing. The product also has adjustable ear loops, Cool Comfort moisture-wicking fabric and color options.  

The collection includes the two-ply Hanes Adjustable Comfort Mask. It features adjustable ear loops, an adjustable nose piece and a youth size. For added benefit, the breathable 60/40 blend features X-TEMP advanced cooling technology.

“We know that appearance and comfortability impact wearing compliance. Our masks were designed to look good and be comfortable for a full day,” said Johnson.

Additionally, HanesBrands said its Hanes Youth Comfort Mask is ideal for elementary schools, where comfort is of utmost importance. Filling out the collection is the Hanes Three-Ply Comfort Mask with an adjustable nose piece. Both of these styles are made with breathable 60/40 blend and feature X-TEMP advanced cooling technology.

In accordance with the federal government’s emergency use authorization, HanesBrands’ government cloth face coverings and consumer face masks:

• Have not been FDA cleared or approved.
• Have been authorized by the FDA under an EUA for use by healthcare professionals as personal protective equipment to help prevent the spread of infection or illness in healthcare settings and by the general public to help slow the spread of the virus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Are authorized only for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of the emergency use of medical devices, including alternative products used as medical devices, during the COVID-19 outbreak.
