Obituary: Philip Schoeneck, Weatherall Advertising
Philip Schoeneck, owner of Dallas-based Weatherall Advertising (asi/356080) and a long-time industry member, passed away on November 15 after complications following heart surgery earlier this year. He was 76.
Born in Tyler, TX, Schoeneck was a part of the promotional products industry, and a member of ASI, for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially duck hunting. For 35 years, he was actively involved at both the state and national levels with Ducks Unlimited, a wetland conservation nonprofit organization, including several stints as president of his local chapter. He was also in active military service from 1960 to 1962 as a Second Lieutenant.
“He will be missed by all who knew him,” says his business partner Doug Cox, “and the industry has lost a wonderful friend.” Cox will now take over management of Weatherall Advertising.
A formal memorial service will be held on Friday December 14 at 10 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, followed by an escorted procession and burial with full honors in the National Military Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX, at 12:30. Donations in Philip’s name may be made to Texas Ducks Unlimited or the Texas State Rifle Association.
