On October 16, Top 40 supplier Gill Studios (asi/56950) was featured prominently in a CBS Sunday Morning segment that covered the history of election bumper stickers. First founded in 1934 by Forest P. Gill, the Shawnee Mission, KS-based company combined fluorescent ink and self-sticking adhesive in the years immediately following World War II to make the first bumper stickers for cars. By 1984, according to the company, they had produced more than one billion bumper stickers.
