The Counselor Top 40 distributor said the experienced promo pros have been instrumental to driving growth.
Key Takeaways
• On the Up: Taylor Borst has been promoted to vice president of vendor relations, marketing and events at Counselor Top 40 distributor American Solutions for Business (asi/120075).
• New Key Role: Dana Zezzo is transitioning to vice president of strategic growth, continuing leadership on key initiatives.
A couple of well-known promo pros are on the rise at the 11th-largest distributorship in the promotional products industry.
Counselor Top 40 distributor American Solutions for Business (ASB, asi/120075) said it has promoted Taylor Borst to vice president of vendor relations, marketing and events. She joins the senior leadership team.
Meanwhile, Dana Zezzo is transitioning into the role of vice president of strategic growth. Zezzo remains a member of the senior leadership team.
ASB President Justin Zavadil, a member of Counselor’s Power 50 list of promo’s most influential people, said the VP moves are a result of both Zezzo and Borst performing top-notch work and helping to propel growth.
“Taylor has made our organization better every day and contributes greatly to our presence in the industry,” Zavadil said. “Her expertise, work ethic, attitude and relationships will continue to improve ASB, and she’ll be a fantastic addition to our senior leadership team.”
Of Zezzo, Zavadil said, “ASB has dramatically improved since Dana joined. Much of that has been because of his dedication. I have complete confidence in him making the same type of impact as we grow in new ways.”
Borst, who has been with ASB for nearly 10 years, is one of the most recognizable social media personalities in the promotional products industry, her content on product trends and more generating substantial engagement. She joined ASB as a strategic operations support specialist and rose through various roles, including most recently holding the title of senior director of marketing and vendor relations.
Zezzo was most recently ASB’s vice president of vendor relations, marketing and events – the role Borst now holds and for which she said Zezzo helped prepare her amply.
“I’m honored to step into this position and can’t wait for what’s ahead,” said Borst. “Over the last six-and-a-half years, I’ve learned so much from Dana’s direction and mentorship, and I’m thrilled we get to continue our collaboration and growth in this next stage. I’m proud to continue serving our sales associates, support teams, home office and vendor partners.”
Zezzo, who previously appeared on Counselors’ Hot List of up-and-coming promo pros in 2010, is also a recognized promo leader. Before joining ASB in 2018, his past roles included being vice president of sales at former Counselor Top 40 supplier IMAGEN Brands – now part of Counselor Top 40 supplier Koozie Group (asi/40480) – and vice president of sales at Pro Towels (asi/79750).
Zavadil noted the Zezzo has been instrumental to important ASB initiatives, including the launch of Canadian Solutions for Business, global expansion projects and ASB Athletics. “This transition will allow him to dedicate more focus to these initiatives,” Zavadil said.
ASB grew its North American promotional products sales 10% year over year in 2023, with revenue rising to a reported $301 million – good enough to place the firm 11th on the most recent Counselor Top 40 distributor rankings.
