Fabrik & Co Acquires Macaron
The Quebec-based supplier of large-format sublimated displays will now sell the Macaron line of lanyards, socks and other items.
A Quebec supplier has acquired a well-known product line within the Canadian promo market.
Repentigny, QC-based Fabrik & Co (asi/53449), a supplier of sublimated large-format tents, banners, displays and inflatables, has acquired Montreal-based Macaron, which has sold branded lanyards, socks and other promotional items for over 40 years. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Moving forward, Fabrik & Co will bring the Macaron brand in-house, and the line will be represented by Fabrik & Co’s multi-line agents across Canada.
“Fabrik & Co will benefit from Macaron’s know-how and experience in order to develop new markets and foster commercial synergies through cross-selling,” the company said in a statement. “This will optimize the company’s growth and strengthen its position in the Canadian market. With an expanded range of customizable products, Fabrik & Co will consolidate its offering and continue to better meet the expectations of distributors across the country.”
Fabrik was founded in 2013 by Ian Ritchot. The company says there will be no operational changes as a result of the acquisition, which is key to the supplier’s North American expansion plans.
“Macaron was the ideal target for us because of its incredible product quality and customer service,” says Ritchot, president of Fabrik & Co. “The two teams will work together at our factory in the suburbs of Montreal.”
Gerald and Carole Petel founded Macaron in 1981. They will oversee Macaron’s transition to Fabrik & Co before retiring from the industry.
