PromoPlacement Expands Recruitment Services to the Print Sector
The firm says it’s making the strategic move as the print and promo product worlds increasingly intertwine.
Since 2014, PromoPlacement Recruiting has specialized in connecting job seekers and firms that are hiring in the promotional products industry.
Now, the St. Louis, MO-based company is expanding its recruitment services to the printing market as well.
Principals at PromoPlacement said the move comes amid what they described as the growing phenomenon of businesses in the $26.1 billion promo market incorporating print solutions into their offerings – and vice versa.
“We recognize the increasing demand for print expertise within our existing client base, and we are committed to supporting this integration by offering our proven recruitment solutions to print businesses, too,” said Kevin McHargue, managing director at PromoPlacement. “Our goal is to connect print industry companies with the skilled professionals they need to succeed in today’s competitive market.”
Print is a sprawling sector with many services; mediums PromoPlacement will cover include commercial printing, digital printing and packaging.
“Businesses seeking to enhance their print capabilities or professionals exploring new career opportunities within the print industry can now leverage PromoPlacement’s expanded network and expertise,” McHargue said.
Beyond its direct recruitment and connection efforts, PromoPlacement’s offerings include Career Hub, a resource that brings together promo industry career websites in one place. In 2020, the firm acquired PromoGigs, a job and resume board in the promo industry.
“This expansion into print recruitment is a natural extension of the company’s mission to provide comprehensive staffing solutions that adapt to the changing needs of its clients,” the firm said in a statement.
The acceleration of the melding of the print and promo spaces came into sharper focus earlier in 2024 when ASI acquired an events and media portfolio from PRINTING United Alliance and formed a new long-term strategic partnership with the member-based printing and graphic arts association.
“To drive growth in the promo industry, collaboration is imperative,” said Tim Andrews, ASI’s president and CEO, at the time of the deal. “Considering that 20% of ASI distributors have ties to the print sector and a similar proportion of screen printers have expanded into promo, the potential for synergy is clear. By pooling talents across promo, screen printing, print and decorating, we’ll create a dynamic marketplace unparalleled in its scope and potential while bringing together ASI suppliers, decorators and distributors at more relationship-building events than ever before.”
