St Regis Group Acquires Clearmount
The move unites two Canadian suppliers of awards and gifts. Clearmount will maintain its branding identity and all current staff, now under the St Regis Group of Companies.
A just-announced acquisition brings together two Ontario suppliers of high-end awards, recognition items and corporate gifts.
St Regis Group (asi/84592; Canada, 84595) has purchased Scarborough, ON-based Clearmount (asi/45440), a supplier of custom Lucite awards and the North American representative of SIGG bottles. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
As part of the acquisition, Clearmount, which will maintain its brand identity under the St Regis Group of Companies, will be moving all operations over to St Regis’ 200,000-square-foot production, warehousing and office space in Markham, ON. Clearmount will also retain its association numbers, contact information, and sales and customer service teams, led by Kate Plummer, Clearmount’s vice president of sales and marketing.
“This is an exciting day for us and we’re thrilled to welcome the Clearmount team,” says Richard Firkser, president and CEO of St Regis. “The unique and distinctive product line from Clearmount is a perfect complement to St Regis and our status as the preeminent supplier of crystal awards and giftware. Bringing our two organizations together will provide our distributor partners with a truly complete range of awards and recognition products to choose from.”
Clearmount is nearly 60 years old, and has been owned and operated by the Plummers for the past 33. Owner David Plummer and his late wife Rosalind, a Promotional Products Professionals of Canada (PPPC) Hall of Fame inductee who was well-known in Canadian promo and instrumental in establishing the annual Women’s Empowerment Event (WEE), managed the company together for more than 25 years.
“I’m excited to have found such a great home for the Clearmount team,” says David, also a member of the PPPC Hall of Fame. “The St Regis brand is a perfect fit for our company, and we plan to bring over the same level of service, quality and reputation. I’m also proud that it will continue with my daughter Kate and all of our current staff. We look forward to seeing our existing and new customers under the St Regis banner.”
Kate, now a WEE committee member, says St Regis’ “embrace of technology is exciting [because of] all the possibilities it opens for our clients. We can’t wait to innovate with them.”
