SanMar Promotes John Janson to VP of Global Logistics
Janson has also joined the Top 40 supplier’s executive team.
Given the complexities and potential for disruption in today’s global supply chains, it can be a distinct competitive advantage for a promo supplier to have a veteran logistics pro who’s at the top of their game to help engineer solutions to challenges.
That’s just what SanMar (asi/84863) says it has in John Janson.
The Issaquah, WA-headquartered firm, which is the single largest supplier by revenue in the North American promotional products industry, has promoted Janson to the position of vice president of global logistics. Janson, who started in the role on Feb. 5, is now part of SanMar’s executive team.
“We are thrilled to have a trusted expert and natural leader at the helm of our logistics network,” said Patrick Noonan, chief product officer at SanMar. “John is positioned to lead SanMar to the next level.”
Janson joined SanMar in 2017 and most recently served as senior director of global logistics. Since then, he has elevated the company’s logistics and deepened critical relationships with key strategic partners, executives said.
Overall, Janson has about 40 years of experience in logistics/transportation. Before joining SanMar, recent career highlights include serving in leadership roles in transportation management for MWI Animal Health and global transportation for Bodybuilding.com.
The Boise State graduate, a married father of two daughters and grandfather to five, won DC Velocity’s annual Rainmaker award in 2022. It honors leaders making a difference in the world of logistics. Janson has served on advisory boards for NASTRAC, the University of Auburn Logistics and the Parcel Forum.

SanMar said it operates a global logistics network that offers one- or two-day delivery to 99.7% of the United States. Based on estimated 2021 North American promo product revenue of $2.88 billion, SanMar ranked first on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
