Social Good Promotions Under New Ownership
Kara Keister has purchased the distributorship from industry veteran Roger Burnett, who’s also known for co-founding do-gooder groups PromoCares and PromoKitchen.
Kara Keister is now at the helm of Brighton, MI-headquartered distributorship Social Good Promotions.
Company founder Roger Burnett, also known for co-founding industry do-gooder groups PromoCares and PromoKitchen, recently sold his stake to Keister, who’s been with the firm in a leadership role since its 2019 inception.
Under Keister’s leadership, Social Good Promotions plans to continue its emphasis on charitable efforts, sustainability, working with supply chain partners that use their power for social good, and supporting clients like nonprofits and others that aim for their dollars to positively impact the world, Keister said.
“Roger and I were super clear on the direction and purpose of Social Good Promotions as a distributor from the onset,” Keister shared in a statement to ASI Media. “We always knew what we wanted it to be when it grew up, so we designed it as such. The team we have in place understands the goal and lives the mission every day. So, while you may see a few new tricks up our sleeves, the story of soGOOD will live on as intended.”
Prior to her time with Social Good Promotions, Keister was a national account manager for City Apparel, a uniform, apparel and branded merchandise company. Keister holds a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Findlay.
An industry veteran, Burnett co-founded the PromoCares initiative, which recognizes promo companies using their businesses for social good, and PromoKitchen, an independent volunteer group that, as part of its mission, pairs experienced ad specialty pros with others in the industry who can benefit from their guidance. It wasn’t clear what his next move will be.
“Roger’s legacy will live on in the DNA of Social Good Promotions,” Keister said. “He’s been a force for the industry and the reason that we even exist. Whatever he has up his sleeve next will be nothing short of epic.”
