Doing Good Works Acquires Ashbury Images
The shop employed at-risk youth and served socially conscious companies in San Francisco.
Doing Good Works (asi/222095) in Irvine, CA, has acquired Ashbury Images, a San Francisco-based screen-printing shop. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Ashbury Images employed at-risk youth to fulfill screen-printing orders for socially conscious companies in the Bay Area of San Francisco. But business at the company was hard hit by the pandemic, and the shop announced that it would have to close its doors.
Doing Good Works, committed since 2015 to benefitting the fostered youth community through sales of promotional products, became aware of the San Francisco shop’s announcement and saw an opportunity to continue serving Ashbury’s clients. After meeting with Ashbury’s owners, Doing Good Works acquired the shop’s clientele and digital printing equipment. Ashbury’s operations will now merge under Doing Good Works’ main company.
“Ashbury Images has a long history of using business as a force of good,” said Jordan Bartlett, co-founder of Doing Good Works. “Being able to continue and grow that impact is important to Doing Good Works going forward and those that have been involved with Ashbury Images over the years. San Francisco has always been on the forefront of community impact and we look forward to being part of that community.”
In January, Doing Good Works acquired CP CustomPrints and has since established it as its promotional products division. The company also operates Purpose Printery, an in-house print shop and trauma-informed workplace, and Foster Greatness for direct donations to the company’s cause. This week, Bartlett, along with co-founder and CEO Scott Henderson and director of customer experience Logan Altman, were named the Bess Cohn Humanitarians of the Year during the first-ever virtual Counselor Awards, for their work supporting the fostered youth community in California.
