This Shade of Pink Is an “It” Color of 2024

Blush pink is gentler than the Barbie-inspired hot pink of 2023.

Thanks to the uber-popular Barbie movie – and the many outfits donned by actress Margot Robbie during her publicity tour – 2023 was the year of bold, in-your-face hot pink. Now, the color trend looks to be cooling off.

Styles at recent runway shows for spring and summer 2024 featured softer shades, like blush pink with undertones of blue. It’s a tone that also hearkens back to childhood, albeit one that’s less “Barbie Dreamhouse” and more “well-loved pair of ballet shoes.” It’s also closely related to Peach Fuzz, Pantone’s 2024 Color of the Year.

“It’s safe to say that 2024 marks the decline of the hot-pink Barbie aesthetic that was so in demand last year,” writes Anna Laplaca for Who What Wear. “Instead, the pink we’ll all reach for is a shade we’re calling icy blush.” Laplaca calls it a “cool-toned pink” that offers “a barely-there wash of color.”

Celebrities, too, have been opting for the softer, toned-down hue, including Florence Pugh, Julia Roberts and even GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

Fortunately, a number of suppliers in the promotional products industry offer items in similar blush pink shades that can be used in upcoming client campaigns, from incentive programs to breast cancer awareness.
