Health Canada, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), has recalled 24 different models of liquid glitter iPhone cases. The glitter can leak out of the cases, causing skin irritation and burns.

As of this writing, there have been 24 reports worldwide of injury, including 19 in the U.S. One consumer reported a chemical burn that caused permanent scarring, while another reported burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body and hands. None have been reported in Canada so far.

The cases, designed for iPhone 6, 6S and 7 and manufactured in China, were sold in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and European Union in various styles and colors. They were distributed by Hamilton, NJ-based MixBin Electronics LLC, and measure about 5.5” by 2.75”. The model number and UPC can be found on the product packaging. No ASI-listed companies have been named in the recall.

Approximately 263,000 cases were sold in the U.S., and 11,400 in Canada. The cases were available on Amazon and at Henri Bendel, MixBin, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch and Victoria’s Secret stores nationwide and online from October 2015 through June 2017 for between $15 and $65.
